Focalpay partners with new Icelandic discount retailer Prís to deliver frictionless checkout journey
Focalpay has been selected to support Prís, the first new player to enter the Icelandic discount market in 24 years, with its cloud native commerce platform.
Using Focalpay’s applications via APIs, Prís is able to offer customers seamless shopping journeys with either Scan & Go or Self Checkout (SCO).
With Focalpay’s technology, Prís will improve the shopping experience for consumers while enhancing staff efficiency.
Stockholm, Sweden, Thursday, 24th October 2024 - Commerce platform provider Focalpay has been selected as Icelandic grocery discount retailer Prís’ checkout partner, as a brand new store has opened in Reykjavik, Iceland. The partnership sees Focalpay provide Prís, which is part of the Heimkaup group, with its cloud-native commerce platform via APIs that enable the SCO and Scan & Go journeys.
This strategic partnership launched officially in August 2024 when the store opened, and has seen Prís challenging the Icelandic grocery market with a brand new concept: Offering lower food prices to Icelandic consumers, while simultaneously enabling a modernized and enjoyable shopping journey.
Together with Focalpay, consumers can enjoy a frictionless self service experience, while staff can focus on completing tasks out on the shop floor instead of being required to work behind the till.
