Focalpay’s AI tools - A paradigm shift in UI and UX design

Last week, we launched our first AI-powered features. In this blog we take a deep dive into how these enable a paradigm shift in user interface (UI) and user experience (UX).

Our AI tools are available through our AI engine. This AI engine sits in our backoffice, and combines a very rich UI with Natural Language Processing-based (NLP) command prompts in a seamless way. The UI and Natural Language Processing (NLP) prompt technologies are two very powerful tools by themselves. And - combining these together by taking the best of the two technologies - empower the engineers to create new user-friendly tools which previously have been impossible. 

UI tools with the right UX design can provide great possibilities to end-users. However, exposing complex functionalities in a user-friendly manner to the end user has always been a challenge for UX designers, which in many cases have resulted in these functionalities not being exposed at all. 

This is where the power of human language prompts based on NLP technologies comes into the picture. The advantage of NLP prompts is that the users can write freely what they aim to do. They can even combine and pair complex features by just writing what they want to do in specific contexts. 

Creating a UI that enables the user with such flexibility is almost impossible. However, moving the most complex features to NLP-based prompts, while keeping UI features for functions they are most suited for, enables the UX designer to create much richer, capable, and user-friendly applications in an unprecedented manner.

This is a paradigm shift in how new user interfaces should be designed in the future. Our engineering team has already benefited from using this capability in our first version of the AI engine - with our merchant Decision Support (DS) tools that enables the merchants to locate, manipulate and process information in a mind-blowing manner. Focalpay’s AI tools are designed for users with limited computer knowledge who at the same time need to  consume and manipulate large amounts of information that is critical for their daily business and profits.
